AMERICA: A CULTURE LOSING ITSELF INSIDE ITSELF

By Frosty Wooldridge

What causes a Virginia Tech brand of violence? Why did Columbine occur?
Why the senselessness of 9/11? Why do 16 teenagers commit suicide daily? Why did immigrant Chai Vang in Minnesota blast seven people to death with a deer rifle two years ago? Why did Tim McVeigh use a rental truck, gasoline and fertilizer? Why more killing in Iraq?

First of all, after being so close to the Columbine Slaughter in Denver, Colorado, my heart weeps at the horrific suffering at Virginia Tech. My mind reels at the horrible butchery daily in Iraq. Look at the slaughter in Darfur and Sudan. Glance at the misery of Mexico with its drugs, poverty, high class wealth and human suffering.

But why in America could Virginia Tech or Columbine happen?

Short answer: violence thrives in America.

Walk into any video arcade across the United States. Which games will you see played by kids? The most violent with the player becoming the shooter!

Which movies garner the greatest audiences? The most violent! How much gratuitous carnage in “The Departed” or “Blackhawk Down” can a human mind take without consequence to itself? Look for future movies to become even more violent!

Look at the killings on TV nightly in CSI Miami, 24 Hours, CSI New York and Law and Order. The mayhem runs more grisly with every episode. Millions of kids watch that violence. They incorporate it as natural aspect of life. They think killing must be normal because that’s what they see everywhere on the news here and in Iraq.

What country killed 655,000 Iraqi citizens in the past four years according to the Johns Hopkins Report on the Iraq War? You guessed it, the United States. All for what? The lie of WMD or “Willful Mass Deception” by George W. Bush! How long will Bush continue his senseless killing of people? For as long as the U.S. public keeps munching dinner in front of the news without taking action to stop him!

What country allows 22,000 deaths via ugly traffic crashes by drunken drivers year after year? With little to no meaningful action to stop it? You’re correct again—the good ole U.S. of A.

What country manufactures and sells the most deadly arms around the world by the billions of dollars annually. Again, the USA!

What country spins faster and faster on a technological wheel of speed beyond human physical and spiritual capacity? What nation rushes to everything and everywhere all the time, day in and day out? Which citizens in the world pop the most pills and take the most tranquillizers to calm down or go to sleep? Which country possesses the most shrinks and valium prescriptions? Take a look at America!

What country forces incompatible cultures and people down its own throat annually as if nothing consequential might occur? What is the third fastest growing country in the world via immigration?

A lot of people state that immigrant Korean Cho Seung-Hui suffered mental illness. However, from another angle, he suffered displacement. He manifested as a disgruntled immigrant out of his own country, out of his culture, out of balance and out of his mind.
The socialist approach to life stands fatally flawed in the reality mirror, as is multiculturalism and unrelenting mass immigration. Our insanity lies in our inability to understand that we cannot expand our nation out of its cultural norms. Without a cohesive glue of purpose, respect for one another, investment and loyalty to one’s country--any kind of anger may surface for expression.
Look what horror we perpetrate abroad. Why wouldn’t a McVeigh be angry? Which American Muslim will be the next Chai Vang or Korean Cho Seung-Hui? What happens when the train bombings in Madrid or London’s subway bombings come from our own home-grown immigrant terrorists? Who do we think we’re fooling as we mix and swirl disparate cultures into our country? Who do we think we’re fooling as we feed our children a constant flow of violent movies, TV, Iraq War, arcades, 2 million inmates in our prisons and much more?
More violence heads our way as surely as the coming of the dawn.
As we grow ourselves by another 100 million people in the next 33 years by 2040, 70 million will be immigrants from disparate cultures. We can expect more violence expressed by more disenfranchised people in a country that isn’t their own.

For Americans, our own country can no longer be considered our own. We prove daily our country losing itself inside itself.

"We are the only country in history that ever deliberately changed its ethnic makeup, and history has few examples of 'diversity' creating a stable society."
Richard Lamm, former governor of Colorado

“The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities." U.S. President Teddy Roosevelt 1908
